Jeremy Wolfsteller Proclamation City of Hopkins Proclamation Whereas , Sergeant Jeremy Wolfstellerwas on his second deployment in Iraq when he came under small arms fire from multiple directions; he was moved to a safer location by two medics where he waited until he could be evacuated; and Whereas , the actions of these two heroes saved the life of Sergeant Wolfsteller, they were later killed while conducting another evacuation; and Whereas , Sergeant Wolfsteller sustained fractures to his pelvic bone, sacrum, and back, he was transported to Walter Reed Medical Center in Washington, DC where he had to lie flat on his back without sitting up for three months; and Whereas , Sergeant Wolfsteller was awarded a purple heart; and Whereas , Sergeant Wolfsteller is a hero and an inspiration to his family, his community, and our country. Now, Therefore , in recognition of all these accomplishments be it resolved that I, Eugene J. Maxwell, Mayor of the City of Hopkins, do hereby proclaim December 10, 2005 to be Sergeant Jeremy Wolfsteller Day Jeremy. in Hopkins, and call upon everyone in our City to join in the salute to In Witness whereof , I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of this City to be affixed this sixth day of December, two thousand and five.
