SUBJECT: 2014 Hopkins Community Image Awards (HCIA)
Each year the City of Hopkins recognizes certain properties for their contribution toward the
image of the community. Awards are grouped in three categories—
CommerciaUIndustrial/Office, Multi -family Residential, and Single Family Residential.
Nominations are sought from the public through August. A review committee determines
which nominated properties receive awards. Each property that receives at least 4 of the 5 review
committee votes is awarded. There is no limit to the number of properties that can be awarded,
but winners from the last 10 years are not considered.
This year the review committee consisted of business owner Kimberly Korb of Wrap City
Graphics, residents Pat Stacken and Scott Kerssen, and city staff members Meg Beekman and
Deb Vold.
The following three properties were selected by the committee:
• Single Family Residential: Jerry and Marie Trafas, 402 - 14`' Avenue North
• Multi -family Residential: Gallery Flats, 815 First Street South
• Commercial/Industrial./Office: Crossroads Plaza, Highway 7 & Hopkins Crossroad
