IV.11. Aprove Resolution 2014-081, Establishing Wage and Benefits for Non-Uniion Employees
December 16, 2014 Council Report 2014-140
APPROVE RESOLUTION 2014-081
NON UNION WAGE INCREASE
Proposed Action
Staff recommends that the Council approve the following motion: Move approval of Resolution No. 2014-
081 establishing wage and benefit increases for non-union employees.
This action will establish wage and benefit increases for non-union employees identical to Local 49 and
HMEA.
Overview
The City has settled contracts for Local 49 and HMEA for a 2% wage increase effective January 1, 2015
and a 2.5% wage increase in 2016. There are also increases in the City’s contribution toward health
insurance. Historically the non-union employees have received the same increases as the unions.
Primary Issues to Consider
How does this agreement fit in with the 2015 budget? The cost of the contract is within the 2015
budget.
Alternatives
1.Approve the contract.
2.Do not approve the contract. Staff would have to renegotiate the contract.
Staff recommends Alternative #1.
