RESOLUTION NO. 77-2609
A RESOLUTION ORDERING PREPARATION OF
ENGINEERS REPORT ON IMPROVEMENTS
WHEREAS, a petition has been received requesting the improvement
of Fifteenth Avenue South between Fifth Street and Sixth Street South by the
installation of water and sewer main thereon and the assessment of benefitting
property for all or a portion of the cost of the improvement pursuant to M.S.A. ,
Secs. 429.011 to Secs. 429.111, as amended.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
HOPKINS, MINNESOTA, that the proposed improvement be referred to John Strojan,
• City Engineer, for study and he is instructed to report with all convenient
speed advising the Council in a preliminary way as to whether the proposed
improvements are feasible and as to whether they should best be made as proposed
or in connection with some other improvement, and the estimated cost of the
improvements as recommended.
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Hopkins, Minnesota, this 16th
day of August, 1977.

Project 76-12 Sanitary sewer on 16th Avenue South from Fifth Street to a point
approximately 118 feet south (Spantek) - Total cost of the project
being $5,303.80 of which all is proposed to be assessed to the
• Spantek property.
Project 76-13 Watermain on 16th Avenue South from Fifth Street to a point
approximately 118 feet south (Spantek) . Total cost of the project
being $4,913.95 of which all is proposed to be assessed to the
Spantek property.
Project 76-13A Bituminous surfacing on 16th Avenue South from Fifth Street to a
point approximately 118 feet south (Spantek) - Total cost of the project
being $1,784.64 of which all is proposed to be assessed to the
Spantek property.
Project 76-02 Concrete curb and gutter on Second Street South from Fifth Avenue
South to Eighth Avenue South. Total cost of the project being
$2,970.69 of which $2,055.20 is proposed to be assessed at $4.283987
per front foot to the lots between 5th and 6th Avenue and at $4.9869
per front foot to the lots between 6th and 7th Avenue.

Project 76-03 Construction of parking spaces on Second Street South between Sixth
Avenue South and Eight Avenue South. Total cost of the project
being $5,321.88 of which all is proposed to be assessed at $71.77
per space between 6th and 7th Avenue and $2,522.86 to be assessed
to the Hopkins Plaza.
Project 76-04 Bituminous surfacing on Second Street South from Fifth Avenue South to
Eighth Avenue South. Total cost of the project being $15,444.91 of
which $7,715.29 is proposed to be assessed $.183891 per square foot
to the properties between Sixth and Seventh Avenue; $.131806 per
square foot to the properties between 5th and 6th Avenue. The
balance to be paid by Tax Increment funds.
Project 76-05 Installation of Storm sewer on Third Street South from County Highway
No. 18 to Fifth Avenue South. Total cost of the project being $43,025.07
of which $13,876.33 proposed to be assessed to Hennepin County,
CMStP&P Railroad; Chicago and Northwestern Railroad. The balance to
be paid by the City.
Project 76-06 Concrete curb and gutter on Third Street South from County Highway
No. 18 to Fifth Avenue South. Total cost of the project being
$6,320.53 of which all is proposed to be assessed to the abutting
properties.
&Sect 76-07 Bituminous surfacing on Third Street South from County Highway 18
to Fifth Avenue South. Total cost of the project being $18,446.40
of which all is proposed to be assessed to benefitting properties.
1/2 to the south side of Fifth Avenue and 1/2 to north side.
Project 76-19 Extension of watermain on the easement on the south 20 feet of county
owned parcel situated north of Parcel 7420 (Hopkins Nursing Home)
Total cost of project being $3,211.29 of which all is proposed to be
assessed. 30% to Hennepin County; 60% to Hopkins Nursing Home;
10% to the vacant land to the south.
rroject 76-14 Installation of Street lights on Burnes Drive from Minnetonka Mills
' Road to the intersection of Burnes Drive and Campbell Drive and on
Campbell Drive to the intersection of Campbell Drive and Burnes
Drive. Total cost of the project being $3,520.02 of which all is
proposed to be assessed equally against 34 parcels in the amount
of $103.53 per property owner.
•:oject 76-08 Street reconstruction and bituminous surfacing on Seventh Avenue
South from Excelsior Avenue southerly to east-west alley. Total
cost of the project being $2,807.20 of which all is proposed to be
assessed. One half to Lots 1 thru 6, inclusive, Block 2; and one-
half to Lots 1 thru 6, inclusive, Block 3.
Water connection to 1020 Oakridge Road. Total cost of the project
being $2,037.80 of which all is proposed to be assessed to the
property owner.
Tree Removal 102 Van Buren Avenue South, Lot 1, Block 35, West Minneapolis Center,
Total cost $68.25; 1429 Oxford Street, Lot 36, Auditors Subdivision
No. 239, Total cost $68.25, all of which is proposed to be assessed.
