Overview The City of Hopkins has partnered with the City of Minnetonka to rehabilitate Oakridge Road from State Trunk Highway 7 (TH 7) to Minnetonka Boulevard. City staffs worked together to develop plans to mill and overlay the roadway and complete other miscellaneous repairs. A Joint Powers Agreement has been prepared to define construction management and payment responsibilities for the project. The City Attorney and City Engineer have reviewed this agreement and find it acceptable. The bid opening for the project was held June 9, 2015. The Hopkins portion of the low bid is $125,708.40, which is $49,291.60 less than the amount budgeted in the Capital Improvement Plan. The low bidder is Bituminous Roadways, Inc. from Mendota Heights, MN. This contractor has a good reputation with previous similar projects in the metro area and also recently completed paving work for the 2015 Mainstreet Improvements and Municipal Parking Lot Improvements.
