May 20, 1975, at 7:30 p.m. , in the Council Chambers in the City Ha1Z.
Present were Mayor Pokorny, Councilmen McDonald, Milbert, Mi11er and Vassar, also City
Manager Cotton, City Clerk Richardson, City Engineer Strojan, Asst. Engineer Anderson,
Operations Director Beecher and Acting City Attorney Otto. Absent: Building Inspector
Kohnen and City Attorney VeseZy.
Reel 182 Mr. MiZbert moved, and Mr. Vassar seconded the motion, that the two

903-949 dated May 20, 1975, under Warrant No. 447, in the amount of $152,9Z2.96, be

Appearance: At this ti�ae in the meeting Mr. Jim Thompson of the Hopkins Jaycees, appeared
949-I053 before the Council asking Council permission for the clasing of the Mall
between 8th and IOth Avenues on June 13th and 14th, Friday and Saturday,
for the Art Fair. Although the Council was in accord with this request, no
formal action by the Council was taken.
Item: 75-44-A. Mr. MiZbert moved, and Mr. Vassar seconded the motion, that the proposed
1053-I111 Stipulation Agreement with the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency and
the C.zty of Hopkins re Hopkins Sanitary Landfill, be continued to the
June 3, 1975, Council meeting. A poll of the vote was as follows: Mr.
Uassar, yea; Mr. McDanald, yea; Mr. MilZer, yea; Mr. Milbert, yea; and
Mayor Pokorny, yea. Nlotion carried unanimously.
Item: 75-45-P. Mr. Vassar moved, and Mr. Miller seconded the motion, that designation of
I1ZZ- parking area south of Dahlberg Liquor as City parking lot be approved,
and that a 2 Hour time Zimit be set to conform with the other City 1ots.
Action: Mr. McDonald moved, and Mr. MiZbert seconded the motion, that this item
-II98 be tabled untiZ the staff can present to the Council a definite plan
governing this parking Zot. A po11 of the vote was as follows; Mr.
Uassar, yea; Mr. McDonald, yea; Mr. MiZler, nay; Mr. Milbert, yea; and

Item: 75-46-P. Mr. MiZler moved, and Mr. Milbert seconded the motion, that the petition
1.Z98-1279 from citizens residing in the vicinity of Cambridge and Texas Avenues
for the instaZlation of two additional stop signs, making this intersection
a 4-Way Stop, be referred to the Police and Engineerin g D�epartments for

yea; Mr. McDonald, yea; Mr. Uassar, yea; and Mayor Pokorny, yea. Motion
carried unanimously.
Item: 75-47-R, Mr. Milbert moved, and Mr. McDonald seconded the motion, that the request
Z279-1294 from Kenneth L. and Russell H. Zakariasen for Council approval of trans-
ferring the speciaZ assessments on Parcel No. 9563, (see attached) to the
remaining portion of said parcel still owned by them, be referred to the
City Attorney. A poll of the vote was as follows: Mr. Vassar, yea; Mr.
McDonald, yea; Mr. Miller, yea; Mr. Milbert, yea; and Mayor Pokorny, yea.
Motion carried unanimously.

10-71 No. 75-2441, "RESOLUTION ADOPTING REVTSION NO. 1, IN THE HOPKINS RE-
DEVELOP.MENT APPLICATION FOR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUNDS",
be adopted. A po11 of the vote was as follows: Mr. Uassar, yea; Mr.
McDona.Zd, yea; Mr. Mi11er, yea; Mr. Milbert, yea; and Mayor Pokorny, yea.

Bid; Pursuant to notice bids were opened on Monday May 19, 1975, at 10:00 a.m.
for 5torm Sewer and Street Repair on Maple HiI1 Road, and the following
bids were received. (see tabulation attached)
Action: Mr. MiZZer moved, and 1�7r. Milbert seconded the motion, that the contract
7.Z-104 for the Storm Sewer and Street Repair on Maple Hi11 Road, Interlachen Park,
be awarded to G. L. Contracting Company in the amount of $10,623. 75. A
poll of the vote was as foZlows: Mr. Milbert, yea; Mr. NIi11er, yea; Mr.
McDonald, yea; 1�Ir. Vassar, yea; and Mayor Pokorny, yea. Motion carried
unanimously.
