Staff recommends the following motion: Adopt Resolution 2015-082, stating City's su�port for
the proposed 1Vlinnehaha Creek Watershed District ecolo�ical restoration project within
Meadowbrook Golf Course.
Overview.
The Minneapolis Parlc & Recreation Board (MPRB) are intending to rebuild the Nleadowbrook
Golf Course starting next year. The scope of the worlc is repair flood damage, improve plan and
make the golf course more resilient to future flood events along the Minnehaha Creelc. The
MPRB partnered with the MCWD on stream restoration, flood mitigation and wetland
restoration work. The MCWD has asked for the City's support of their proposed creek -
ecological restoration project. Staff recommends City Council approve the proposed resolution
of support.

�IHE�AS, the Minnehaha Creek Watershed District (MCWD) is proposing aig ecological
restoration p�oject within 1Vleadowbrook Golf Course in the cities of Hopkins and St. Louis
Park; and
WFIE�r�S, the proposed project will restore the currently ditched segment of Minnehaha
Creek to a meandering stream channel; address flood resiliency within the golf course; provide
flood mitigation for properties adjacent to the site; restore and enhance wetland fiulction within
the golf course; and expand the Minnehaha Creek Greenway through access and connections;
and
WI-�EREAS, NICVVD needs the consent of the City of Hopi<ins to move forward with the
project; and
�V��12EAS, the project enhances the community and environment in Hopkins;

Minnesota that the City supports the Meadowbrook Golf Course Ecological Restoration
Project.
