JANUARY 19, 2016
CALL TO ORDER
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Hopkins City Council was held
on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at 7:01 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 1010 First
Street South, Hopkins.
Mayor Cummings called the meeting to order with Council Members Kuznia, Halverson, Gadd
and Campbell attending. Staff present included City Manager Mornson, Community
Development Coordinator Beekman, City Clerk Domeier, Planning and Development Director
Elverum and Assistant City Manager Genellie.
ADOPT AGENDA
Mayor Cummings commented that the New Business item First Reading: Ordinance Amending
Section 1200 of the Hopkins City Code: Sale, Consumption and Display of Alcoholic Beverages
(CR2016-006)has been removed from the agenda until February 2.
Motion by Gadd. Second by Campbell.
Motion to Adopt Agenda as amended.
Ayes: Kuznia,Halverson, Cummings, Gadd, Campbell.
Nays: None.Motion carried.
CONSENT AGENDA
City Clerk Domeier gave an overview of the updates and changes to the Special Events Policy.
Mayor Cummings commented that the updates to the policy clarify the process for city staff and
event organizers.
Motion by Kuznia. Second by Halverson.
Motion to Approve the Consent Agenda.

Ayes: Kuznia,Halverson, Cummings, Gadd, Campbell.
Nays: None. Motion carried.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
• State of the City/Taste of Hopkins Event: Hopkins Center for the Arts—Thursday, January
28, 2016 beginning at 5 p.m.
• Police Department Town Hall Meeting: Hopkins Center for the Arts—Tuesday, February 2
at 6:30 p.m.

• Citizens Academy will be held Thursdays, April 7, 14, 21 and 28. Applications are now
available on City's website.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to come before the City Council and upon a motion by
Halverson, second by Gadd, the meeting was unanimously adjourned at 7:05 p.m.
