AT CONCLUSION OF THE REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING
Tuesday, May 17, 2016
CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Cummings called the meeting to order at 8:25 p.m. Council Members and staff present at
meeting included the following:

x Council Member Campbell
The following updates were provided at the meeting:
Public Works
Park Board:
Public Works Director Stadler gave an update on the Park Board and will inform board members
regarding the importance of meeting attendance. Mr. Stadler will keep the Council updated.
City Council:
Council Member Campbell discussed the Park Board meeting and member applications.
There was Council discussion regarding hosting a Council Member informal gathering for
Blake Road residents and status of the monthly Apartment Manager meetings.
Staff will contact the Blake Road Corridor Collaborative (BRCC) regarding adopting
Cottageville Park.
Council Member Campbell gave an update on the 169 Mobility Study Group.
Council Member Campbell will not be in attendance at the July 26 City Council meeting.
Council Member Gadd would like to continue follow-up discussions on racial equity.
Council Member Gadd commented that JCI Hopkins has discussed taking on the Little
Library projects for the parks with Public Works Director Stadler.
Council Member Kuznia commented that the GEARS meeting was cancelled until a future
date.
Council Member Gadd encouraged the Council to contact representatives regarding the
support for the SWLRT.
Mayor Cummings gave an update on meetings that she and City Manager Mornson attended.
Administration:
City Manager Mornson discussed the appointment of new members to the Zoning and
Planning Commission and Park Board.
City Planner Lindahl is reviewing the Commission and Board Bylaws regarding terms and
reappointments.
City Manager commented that the large fire truck is due for replacement and will be in the
2017 Equipment Replacement Plan. An outstate community has expressed interest in
purchasing the old fire truck.
City and Hopkins School District staff met with representatives of the Hopkins Hockey
Association to discuss future planning of the Hopkins Pavilion ice sheets. Staff will continue
to discuss costs and options for funding.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to come before the City Council and upon a motion by Kuznia,
seconded by Campbell, the meeting was unanimously adjourned at 8:54 p.m.
