Project History:
The project is driven by concerns
over the structure and ride of the
pavement. The last overlay was
completed in 2000 and the pavement
has longitudinal cracking issues and
potholes forming, leading to public
complaints and extensive patching
by maintenance forces. Along with
the pavement, the drainage system
is in need of repair to ensure proper
drainage and extend the life of the
structures. Safety concerns include
2 right-in-only access points and
several free-right turns with short
acceleration tapers. These concerns
have led to safety problems.
Pedestrian facilities do not meet
current ADA standards and will be
brought into compliance.
Project Benefits:
Improved pavement structure
Smoother ride
Extended pavement life
Improved driver and pedestrian
safety.
Added life to drainage structures
