City staff has been approached by Dr. Pete L’ Allier, owner of Hopkins Health & Wellness, with his idea
to commission a sculpture that will be the World’s Largest Raspberry. It would be installed on private
property, with some conditions, including the need to apply for a footings and foundation permit, signed
off on by a structural engineer.
He would like the opportunity to highlight this project at the City Council meeting on November 14,

World’s Largest Raspberry!
“A community can accomplish amazing things when citizens, businesses
and community leaders work together.”
Hopkins is the Raspberry Capital of the United States of America. Hopkins
Health and Wellness, along with the help of local businesses, Hopkins citizens
and community leaders, is embarking on a project to create a monument of world
record proportions. The goal is to erect a statue of the world’s largest raspberry
on 8th Avenue North, just north of Mainstreet near the trailhead of the Lake
Minnetonka LRT Regional Trail. At ten feet wide and eleven feet tall, this
monument constructed of recycled and repurposed materials will bring prestige
to Hopkins and serve as a landmark for visitors, residents and outdoors
enthusiasts.
It will be first presented to the community at the Hopkins Raspberry Festival
parade on July of 2017 and officially unveiled on August 5th, 2017.
We will be contacting local business members, citizens and community leaders
to discuss how to volunteer, support or contribute to this project.
