IV.6. Metropolitan Council Livable Communities Transit Orientated Development Program Grant Agreement Extension – Oxford Green; Beekman (CR2016-125) (2)
December 6, 2016 Council Report 2016-125
Metropolitan Council Livable Communities Transit Oriented Development
Program Grant Agreement Extension – Oxford Green
Proposed Action
Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Move to approve the First
Extension of Metropolitan Livable Communities Demonstration Account Transit Oriented
Development Grant Agreement for the Oxford Village Project.
Overview
In 2013, The City, on behalf of PPL, applied for and received $1,600,000 from the
Metropolitan Council’s LCDA-TOD fund to assist in land acquisition, demolition, and
placemaking within and around the project area. The grant agreement requires the
funds to be used by December 31, 2016. While approximately $1.2 million of the funds
have already been reimbursed to PPL, it is anticipated that not all funds will be used by
the expiration of the grant.
PPL has requested a 12 month extension that would allow them time to commence
construction in order to use the remainder of the grant funds.
