With this motion, the appointments will be confirmed. Overview The Hopkins Public Art Advisory Committee was formed in 2013 as a result of a broader public art policy. The objectives of the policy are to provide meaningful cultural experiences, attract new people to Hopkins and showcase artwork that reflects creativity, stimulates discussion, honors the City’s history and/or reflects the character and diversity of Hopkins. The policy outlines the structure of a Public Arts Advisory Committee that will review and make recommendations on Public Art in Hopkins. Recommended appointments and reappointments to the committee are: Representing: Name: Term Expires: Economic Dev Meg Beekman 12/31/18 Public Works Jay Strachota 12/31/17 Art Center Jim Clark 12/31/19 Hopkins Business Mike Wilkus/Wilkus Architects 12/31/19 Artist/Hopkins Resident Fawzia Khan 12/31/17 Artist/Hopkins Resident CJ Renner 12/31/18 This is an important time in the City’s public art development due to the construction of the Artery.
