Minutes of the January 2, 2018 City Council Regular Meeting Proceedings HOPKINS CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING PROCEEDINGS JANUARY 2, 2018 CALL TO ORDER Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Hopkins City Council was held on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at 7:02 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 1010 First Street South, Hopkins. Mayor Cummings called the meeting to order with Council Members Kuznia, Halverson, Gadd and Campbell attending. Staff present included City Manager Mornson, City Clerk Domeier, Director of Planning and Development Elverum, Assistant City Manager Lenz and Public Works Director Stadler. CALL TO ORDER I.1. Oath of Office: Council Member Campbell City Clerk Domeier issued the Oath of Office to Council Member Campbell. I.2. Oath of Office: Council Member Halverson City Clerk Domeier issued the Oath of Office to Council Member Halverson. I.3. Oath of Office: Mayor Cummings City Clerk Domeier issued the Oath of Office to Mayor Cummings. Mayor Cummings thanked the voters and commented that the Council is looking forward to all the exciting opportunities happening in the City of Hopkins and welcomes resident involvement. ADOPT AGENDA Mayor Cummings commented on changes to the Consent Agenda. Consent Agenda item number 8, the 2018 meeting schedule has been amended and the March Work Session has been cancelled. Consent Agenda item number 11 has been taken off for further study. Motion by Gadd. Second by Campbell. Motion to Adopt Agenda as presented. Ayes: Kuznia, Halverson, Cummings, Gadd, Campbell. Nays: None. Motion carried. CONSENT AGENDA Motion by Gadd. Second by Campbell. Motion to Approve the Consent Agenda as amended. 1. Ratify Checks issued in December 2017; Bishop (Memo) 11. Approve Agency Agreement with MNDOT for Federal Participation in Construction; Stanley (CR2018-007) 12. Approve Limited Use Permit – Blake Road Pedestrian Improvements Within Trunk Highway 7 Right-of-Way; Stanley (CR2018-008) Ayes: Kuznia, Halverson, Cummings, Gadd, Campbell. Nays: None. Motion carried. Motion by Campbell. Second by Kuznia. Motion to Approve the Consent Agenda item number 11. Approve Agency Agreement with MNDOT for Federal Participation in Construction; Stanley (CR2018-007) Ayes: Kuznia, Halverson, Cummings, Gadd, Campbell. Nays: None. Motion carried. ANNOUNCEMENTS  Taste of Hopkins and State of City at Hopkins Center for the Arts, 1111 Mainstreet: Thursday, January 25, 2018 – 5:00 p.m.  Hopkins Citizen Academy, Thursdays, April 5-26, 2018.  Christmas tree pickup program, January 8 -11, 2018. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business to come before the City Council and upon a motion by Kuznia, second by Halverson, the meeting was unanimously adjourned at 7:10 p.m. OPEN AGENDA – PUBLIC COMMENTS AND CONCERNS The City Council did not receive any comments or concerns.
