AT CONCLUSION OF THE REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING
Tuesday, February 20, 2018
CALL TO ORDER
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a work session of the Hopkins City Council was
held on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at 7:39 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall,
1010 First Street South, Hopkins.
Mayor Cummings called the meeting to order with Council Members Kuznia, Halverson,
Gadd and Campbell attending. Staff present included City Manager Mornson and Public
Works Director Stadler.
City Council:
• Council Member Gadd discussed the Highway 7 MnDOT improvement project and
asked about flashing yellow upgrades to the 12th Avenue stop lights. Public Works
Director Stadler will update the Council.
• Council Member Halverson asked about the Excelsior Blvd. LED street lights. Public
Works Director Stadler commented that Xcel Energy is changing to more energy
efficient and less light pollution street lighting. Public information will be in the March
Highlights.
• Council Member Kuznia will be attending the Interlachen neighborhood meeting
Wednesday, February 21 .
• Mayor Cummings discussed recent and upcoming meetings and conferences.
• Mayor Cummings announced HBCA yearly award winners.
• Mayors Cummings discussed the Leaders Lab program.
City Manager Mornson provided the following updates:
• HBCA had positive comments regarding the relationship with the City
• Discussion of recommended news articles for the Council to review
• Discussion of the appointment process of commission and board members
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to come before the City Council and upon a motion by
Campbell, seconded by Kuznia the meeting was unanimously adjourned at 7:57 p.m.
