A City Coundl Work session was held on Tuesday, June 1.1999 in the Coundi
Chambers after the regular City Coundl meeting.
The meeting was called to order by Mayor IZedepenning at 10:45 p.m. All City Council
members were in attendance. as was City Manager Steve Mielke.
The Mayor asked i'F any Council members had issues they wished to discuss.
Video Stores at the end o~ Malnstreet
CourxS member Johnson asked for an update on the video store at the end off
Mainstreet. Mielke indicated that the video stone was proceeding and was under
construction. and that they would not be dassifled as an adult establishment, since their
space and materials Would be 30 peroent of all materiels or less. as per our ordinance.

Council member Johnson asked about the Coundl discussbn regarding neighborhood
meetings as a policy or oniinanoe change. Mielke indicated that the staff would
de~relop a policy or oniinance draft for Coundl oonsideratlon and suggested that
neighbori~ood meetings be sequined as part off CUP and zoning changes.
Hopkins Centa~ fior the Arts Usapv Policy
Coundl member Johnson asked of the status of the Hopiins Center for the Arts usage
policy and requested irrfiornnatbn as do haw the Rsspbeny Festlval Would fit intro that
policy. Mielke indicated that he had neoeived some feedback from Coundi members
concerning this issue and wished do put it on a future Coundl agenda for additlonal
discussion. He staffed that the Raspberry Festival issue could be discussed at that
time.
Video Tape of May 18 City Council MevtlnS
Council member Hesch requested a Dopy of the May 18 videotape of the City Council
meeting. Mielke indicated that he Would obtain a Dopy for her.
ParkfnS Task Forov, Lot 500
Coundl member Jensen requested ir~~~~atlon regarding the parkng task fonoe and
whetl~er or not the Lot 500 issue was 30 or 50 stalls. Mielke indicated that at one
meeting the dedskm was made to go with 30 stalls. but that Mike Tait was not at that
meefing. At the tdlowing meeting Mike requested that the task fioroe reconsider. which
they did. and then authorized 50 stalls. Mielke further stated that he antldpated that the
parking task fonoe Would readdress the questlon on the Wednesday. June 2 meeting.
Zion Lutheran Church
Counc~ member Hesch informed the Coundl that the Zion Lutheran Church had
authorized purchase of the third home on Filth Avenue.
