Due to the extreme cold on January 18, 1994 the regular
meeting of the Hopkins city council was postponed until
10:30 a.m. on January 19, 1994. The only agenda item the
Council dealt with was the Consent Agenda.

Mayor Redepenning called the meeting to order at 10:30 a.m.

Councilmember Hesch wanted to know why two of the original
members were no longer on the Human Rights Commission.
Mr. Mielke explained that they had asked to be removed from
the Committee.
Councilmember Maxwell showed concern over having more than
one person serve on more than one committee. He felt that a
possible conflict of interest could impede someone serving
on more than one commission.
Mr. Mielke explained that the Council had to approve all
Commission members and each appointment could be decided on
an individual basis.
