City Manager Stave Kielke gave an update on 'the budget balancing
ps ~~osal by the Governar. 1~ssusing the C.~.~ saor ~ s proposal is
the City of Hopkins Mould lose roughly $30,000. The
Governors proposal includes no cuts to counties, toMnahips, ar
cities Mfthout local t aid.

and study Mith the City Council and anaMared questions regarding

initiative and specifically to ~~srass the issues of refRse

this issue. •

traffic report and consideration for iaprova~ae~nts.

analysis of the County Road 3 study from Blake Road to Fifth
l~vanue. Lee Gustafson indicated that the staff Mas looking for
feedback on the report and a direction as to pursuing the
placement of County Road 3 on the County ~ a long tez•~ iMprovemant
plans. l~lfter discussion by the Councf 1, it Mas the consensus of
the Council to look at and have staff ~z~para a resolution asking
the County to place the County Road 3 ~t idor in Hopkins on the
Capital IaproveMent Plans for the County. Staff indicated that
th itaos Mould ba on the next Council agenda.
The final agenda item Mas a discussion of the Fire Maintenance
Inspection prograa. Fire Marshal George Magdal revieMad his
ae~aoranduM on the current inspection prograM and a staff proposal
to initiate a fee syate~a as part of the inspection progra~a.
Magdal stated that the current inspections cost the City
ap~rro3ciaately $17,000 par year and allays all buildings Mithin
the City to ba inspected onc:a every five years. Santa buildings
receive sore frequent inspections due to their risk and occupsncy
classification.
