06-19-06T A regular meeting of the Hopkins City Council was held on June 19, 2006, in
the Council Chambers of the Hopkins City Hall.
Present were Mayor Maxwell and Council Members Thompson, and
Halverson. Also present were staff members Getschow, Genellie, Bradford,
Kerrigan, and City Attorney Jason Hutchison.
I. CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Maxwell called the meeting to order at 7:31 p.m.
II. OPEN AGENDA -PUBLIC COMMENTS AND CONCERNS
There were none.
III. PRESENTATION
Charlie Yunker and Jayme Forstrom, Executive Directors of the
Raspberry Festival, appeared before the City Council to provide
information about the 2006 Festival, which will take place from July 6
to July 16.

Mayor Maxwell asked when the sidewalk and alley repairs would begin. Mr.
Bradford said that work would begin in July. Mayor Maxwell also asked about
item 13. Mr. Bradford said that these easements are necessary to allow the
City of Minnetonka to construct a trail along the west side of Hopkins
Crossroad from Minnetonka Boulevard to Cedar Lake Road.
Council Member Thompson moved and Council Member Halverson seconded a
motion to approve the Consent Agenda. A poll of the vote was as follows:
Council Member Thompson, aye; Council Member Halverson, aye; Mayor
Maxwell, aye. The motion carried unanimously.
VII. NEW BUSINESS
1 . Approve Ordinance Amendment for Section 500 of the City Code
(CR2006-075)
In 2003, the City Council adopted ordinance 2003-899, which made changes
to various fee schedules and renewal dates. In that ordinance, Section
500.75, Subdivision 7 was deleted and replaced with a statement that Park
Dedication contributions will be established in Chapter 10 of the Hopkins City
Code and set from time to time by resolution of the City Council.
When Section 500.75, Subd. 7 was deleted, language on how value would be
calculated to determine the Park Dedication fee on commercial, industrial, and
medium/high density residential plats, was also removed form the City Code.
Ordinance 2006-971 would add this language back into the Code.
Council Member Halverson moved and Council Member Thompson seconded a
motion to approve Ordinance 2006-971 for first reading. A poll of the vote
was as follows: Council Member Thompson, aye; Council Member Halverson,
aye; Mayor Maxwell, aye. The motion carried unanimously.
VIII. ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business, Council Member Thompson moved and
Council Member Halverson seconded a motion to adjourn the meeting. The
meeting was adjourned by unanimous consent at 7:41 p.m.
