MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION
AT CONCLUSION OF THE REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING
_ May 3, 2005
Mayor Maxwell called the meeting to order at 8:47 pm at the conclusion of the regular City Council
meeting at City Hall. Council members present were Mayor Maxwell and Council members Johnson,
Thompson, Brausen, and Rowan. City personnel present was City Manager Rick Getschow..
Neighborhood Speed Control Yard Signs
Council member Brausen asked about the current status of the yazd signs. There has been a request
from a resident for the signs. City Manager Getschow stated that he would contact Public Works regarding
the status of the signs and the neighborhoods regarding the speed control yard sign program.
Oaks of Mainstreet Fence
Council member Thompson stated that he had talked to an Oaks of Mainstreet resident regarding the
fence that the City HRA put up near the 20'" Avenue townhomes. Previously residents could get back and
forth through Utat area to get to a bus stop. Now with the fence, there aze concerns with not being able to
get though. Mayor Maxwell stated that Utere were also complaints in the other direction for people witl-
conceros about the cut-through traffic. City Manager Getschow stated that he would talk to the HRA about
the background of the fence issue and have something placed in the update.
Meeting With Senator Coleman Regarding Nurturing Our Retired Citizens (NORC)
Mayor Maxwell stated that he and City Manager Getschow will be meeting with NORC
representation and Senator Coleman on Wednesday regarding funding for senior programs. City Manager
Getschow handed out a summary sheet of issues related to NORC and what will be discussed with Senator
Coleman.
There being no further items, a motion was made by Council member Brausen, seconded by Council
member Thompson to adjourn the meeting. The motion passed unanimously. The meeting was adjourned
at 8:55 pm.
