RESOLUTION 2003-057
RESOLUTION SETTING FEES FOR EXTENDED BAR HOURS
WHEREAS, Several businesses that are licensed to sell alcoholic beverages
approached the City Council with the request to sell alcoholic beverages extended
hours on certain nights, and;
WHEREAS, The Hopkins Chief of Police has indicated that allowing the sale of
alcoholic beverages until 2:00 a.m. will increase overtime in the Hopkins Police
Department, which will cause an increase to wage expenditures, and;
WHEREAS, The City Council has adopted an amendment to Section 1200.46 of
the Hopkins City Code to allow businesses with licenses to sell alcoholic beverages
to do so until 2:00 a.m. on certain nights if the increased cost to the Police
Department is recovered by fees collected for so doing, and;
WHEREAS, The ordinance allows the City to set fees for extended hours by
resolution;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
HOPKINS to set the following fees for extended hours of sale of alcoholic
beverages:
On-sale Alcohol
On-sale Wine
On-sale 3.2% Malt Liquor
