A special meeting of the �nployeets gdvisory Board of the �ity of Hopkins was held
at 4;30 p.M, on Monday, 5/23/55 at the City gall.
'� present were �hairman gtevenson, members Caughren, Robinson, gcanlan and �ity Manager
Frissell.
This meeting was called to discuss the problem of City employee Joe �pecken. Mr.
gpecken had written a letter to the �ity rTanager and had asked for his drivers job
back, some time ago, Iie had been taken off as driver and put on as helper because
he had burned out too many clutches in the garbage truck. The problem was discussed
and all the members went along with a motion made by Caugren and seconded by Robinson
that Mr. Specken be left where he now is as helper where he is satisfactory, rather
than place hin back on as driver and then should he have more clutch trouble, he would
be dismissed. Nir. Gaughren and the �ity �anager stated that they would speak to
Mr. gpecken and Qcplain that it was for his own good that the board was recommending
he be kept on the job he now holds.

This meeting was called to discuss th� problem oY
City employee Jos Specken. Mr. Specken had written a letter to the
City Mgr. and had asked Por hig drivers 3ob back. Some time a�go he
had been taken off as driver and put on as helper because he had

discussed and all the members, went along with a motion made by
Caughren and seconded by Robinson that Mr. Specken be left where he
now is as helper where he ig satisPactory, rather than place him

would be diamissed. Mr. Caughren and the city Mgr. stated that they
would speak to Mr. Specken and explain that it was for his own goad
that the board was reco�nending he be kept on the �ob hs now holds.

A meeting of full time employees of the City of Hopkins was called
for l�.: 30 P.M., Wednesday, August 17, 1955, for the purpose of elect�g
,.� one (1) employee member to the Advisory Board.
City Manager Frissell presided as Chairman of the meet:ing and after
some briefing as to procedure it was announced that nominatiorg were
in order.
Hanson moved, Carter seconded, the nomination of Harold Christensen.
Carried.
Caughren moved, Engner Johnson seconded, that nominations be closed.
Carried.
Puck moved, Berglund seconded, that the Clerk cast one (1) unanimous
vote declaring Harold Christen.sen elected for a th.r�ee y�ar term ending
8/1/58. Carried.
