Minnesota, was held on Tuesday, September 28, 1965, at 7 :30 P.M., in the Council
Chambers in the City Hall.
.._ Present were Chairman Pro Tem, Larson, members Blake, Councilman Pokorny, City
Manager Brubacher, City Engineer Strojan, Building Inspector Blomquist and
City Planner Hawks.

Applicant: Howard Gelb
Subject: Hearing at 7 :30 P.M. , for a variance in lot width in a Single-Residence
district, based on alleged hardship, on the following described premises,
situated in Hopkins, Hennepin County, Minnesota, viz: "East fifty (50)
feet of West one hundred eighty-five (185) feet �of North one hundred
fifty (150) feet of Southwest Quarter (SW4) of Northwest Quarter (NW4)
Section 19, Township 117, Range 21".
Action: Mr. Blake moved, and Mr. Pokorny seconded the motion, that the request

Side 1 alleged hardship on the above described premises, be tabled to the next
430-673 regular Zoning and Planning Commission meeting. Motion carried.
Case No. 65-27-Z
Applicant: Suburban Chevrolet
Subject: Hearing at 7 :30 P.M., for the rezoning of certain areas from Multiple-
—. Residence-1, to Commercial-1, the following described premises situated
in Hopkins, Hennepin County, Minnesota, viz: "Lots 21 and 22, Block 7,
West Minneapolis - 12th Avenue South.
Action: Mr. Blake moved, and Mr. Pokorny seconded the motion, that recommendation
674-902 be made to the City Council that the rezoning be denied, but that a
Special Use Permit be considered to allow parking on Lots 21 and 22, as
permitted in Ordinance No. 230. Also, that the relocation of the alley
be allowed according to the request. Motion carried.
S��uject: Recommendation from the City Council that the Zoning and Planning
Commission study the possibility of rezoning from Double-Residence to
Commercial-1, the West side of llth Avenue to the alley from Excelsior
Avenue to First Street No.
Action: Mr. Pokorny moved, and Mr. Blake seconded the motion, that the above
902- recommendation be continued to the special meeting of the Zoning and
Planning Commission to be held on October 12, 1965. Motion carried.

A HEARING ON AN APPLICATION FOR A VARIANCE IN
LOT WIDTH IN A SINGLE-RESIDENCE DISTRICT
WHEREAS, a written application has been made to the Building
Inspector and the Zoning and Planning Commission for a variance in lot
width in a Single-Residence district, based on alleged hardship, on
the following described premises situated in Hopkins, Hennepin County,
Minnesota, viz:
East fifty (�0) feet of West one hundred eighty-five
(185) feet of North one hundred fifty (150) feet of
Southwest Quarter (SW4) of Northwest Quarter (NW4),
Section 19, Township 117, Range 21.
^ NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY ORDERED, that the Zoning and Planning
Conunission of the City of Hopkins will hold a hearing on said application
in the Council Chambers of the City Hall of Hopkins, on September 28, 1965,
at 7 :30 P.M. , o'clock and that the Building Inspector shall give seven (7)
days published notice of said hearing in the official newspaper of the
City of Hopkins by publishing a copy of this hearing notice therein.
