06-29-1965 A regular meeting of the Zoning and Planning Commission of the City of Hopkins, Minnesota,
was held on Tuesday, June 29, 1965, at 7 :30 P.M., in the Council Chambers in the City
Ha11.
Present were Mayor Milbert, Chairman Pro Tem, members Stannard, Blake and Larson, also
^ Councilman Pokorny, Jr., City Manager Brubacher, City Engineer Strojan, Buildirg Inspector
Blomquist, and City Planner Hawks.
Case No. 65-04 Mr. Larson moved, and Mr. Stannard seconded the motion, that the hearing

4-10 Residence to Commercial-1, certain areas including the following des-
cribed premises in Hopkins, Minnesota, viz: From Double-Residence to
Commercial-1, Lots 19,20,21,22,23, and 24, Block 69, and Lots 1,2,3,4,5,
and 6, B1ock 70, West Minneapolis 2nd Division, Hopkins, Minnesota, be
continued to the next regular Zoning and Planning meeting on July 27,
1965. Motion carried.
Case No. 65-11 Mr. Larson moved, and Mr. Stannard seconded the motion, that recommenda-
10-17 tion be made to the City Council that request to rezone certain areas
from Single-Residence to Industrial, the following described premises
situated in Hopkins, Hennepin County, Minnesota, viz: "the West half of
the Southwest Quarter (SW4) of the Southwest Quarter (SW4) of Section
25, Township 117, Range 22", be denied. Motion carried.
Case No. 65-17 Mr. Blake moved, and Mr. Stannard seconded the motion, that the Recreation
17-75 and Parks Commission be asked to appear before the Zoning and Planning
`�' Commission at their next meeting on July 13, 1965, to explain the pro-
posed street changes in the Central Park Development Plan. Motion carried.
Case No. 65-14 Mr. Stannard moved, and Mr. Blake seconded the motion, that recommenda-
75-283 tion be made to the City Council that the request for a permit to park
cars on residential zoned property, which property abuts upon property
zoned C-2, in accordance with Ordinance No. 230, and for an adjustment
of land use according to Ordinance No. 131, Sec. 15, Subd. 2(B) (1), and
Subd. 2(B) (2), on the following described premises in Hopkins, Hennepin
County, Min�esota, viz: "all that part of Lot 77, Auditor�s Subdivision
Number 239, Hennepin County, Minnesota, described as follows: Commencing
at a point in the center line of Excelsior Boulevard 30.01 feet West,
measured along the center line from the point of intersection of said
center line with the East line of Lot 77, extended; thence South along
a line parallel with and distant 30 feet West of the East line of said
Lot 77, a distance of 127 feet; thence West along a line parallel with
the South line of said Lot 77, a distance of 100 feet to the point of
beginning of the tract to be described; thence North along a line parallel
with the East line of said Lot 77, to the North line of said Lot 77;
thence Westerly along the North line of Lot 77, to the Northwest corner
� thereof; thence South along the West line of said Lot to a point 45 feet
North of the Southwest corner of said lot; thence East parallel with the

line of said Lot to the intersection with a line drawn from the actual
point of beginning parallel with the South of beginning, subject to rights
acquired by the City of Hopkins for street purposes in Doc. No. 529320,
Files of the Register of Titles. (S.E. corner of Blake Road and Excelsior
Ave.), be denied, because of a Special Use Permit having been issued on
the commercial property involved, and because of this matter being before
the Court, and because of increased traffic if a larger station is in-
stalled. Motion carried.
Case No. 65-18 Mr. Pokorny, Jr. moved, and Mr. Blake seconded the motion, that recommenda-
283-413 tion be made to the City Council that the request of Gerald C. Wi11e, for
annexation of the following described parcel of land to the City of
Hopkins, be approved; "that part of SW4 of NE4, Section 23, Township 117 N.,
Range 22, on 21st Avenue North beginning at a point from the SE corner
of the present Hopkins-Minnetonka boundary running North for a distance
of 163 feet, thence Westerly from the present boundary line a distance of
168 feet, thence Southerly for a distance of 163 feet, thence Easterly
along present Hopkins-Minnetonka boundary line a distance of 168 feet to
..� point of beginning", and permission be granted to hook up to Hopkins sewer,
prior to actual annexation, based upon the proposed boundary changes with
the Village of Minnetonka. Motion carried.

AN ADJUSTMENT OF LAND USE.
WHEREAS, a written application has been made to the Building Inspector
and the Zoning and Planning Commission for a permit to park cars on residential
zoned property, which property abuts upon property zoned C-2, in accordance with
Ordinance No. 230, and for an adjustment of land use according to Ordinance No.
