12-29-1964 The regular meeting of the Zoning and Planning Commission of the City of Hopkins
was held in the Council Chambers in the City Hall on Tuesday, December 29th, 1964,

Case No. 2 64-43-Special-Use-Permit.
Applicant: Paul Kelley
Subject: A hearing published November lOth, 1964, on a request for a Special-Use-
Permit for a proposed construction of a miniature golf course in
Commercial-2 and Industrial zoned Districts on the following described
premises situated in Hopkins, Hennepin County, Minnesota, viz: Lots
1, 2, 3, 4, 6 and 7, Block 17, including one-half of vacated alleys
West Minneapolis Center or adjacent to and behind 619 Excelsior Avenue
East; continued from the November 24th Zoning and Planning Commission
meeting with the provision that Mr. Kelley submit a more complete plan
for parking; drainage and a possible additional soft ice cream store
to the City Building Inspector.
Action: Mr. Larson moved and Mr. Malecha seconded the motion that the above

Case No. 3. 64-45-Special-Use-Permit and variances.
Applicant: James Tholen.

zoned district; or on Lots 9 and 10, Block 57, West Minneapolis; or

Action: Mr. Malecha moved and Mr. Larson seconded the motion that the
�. 39 - 138 Zoning and Planning Commission recommend approval to the City
Council of the request for a Special-Use-Permit, a nineteen (19)
foot front yard variance; a one (1) foot rear yard variance;
and a nine foot six inch (9.6) South side yard variance. The
motion carried. Mr. Blake not voting.
Case No. 4. 64-23-Plat.
Applicant: John Meath.
Subject: Approval of the revised preliminary plat or that portion of Lot 12
and Lot 11, and the West 145 feet of the North 60 feet of Lot 10,
of the previously approved preliminary plat and the preliminary
approval of the balance of the plat or the West 145 feet of the
South 48 feet of Lot 10, and Lot 9 exclusive of the East 145 feet of
the North 57 feet of said Lot and Lot 8.
Action: Mr. Blake moved and Mr. Malecha seconded the motion that the Zoning and
150 - 285 Planning Commission recommend approval of the request for preliminary
approval of the revised plat to the City Council and that the Council
advertise a hearing on the revised plat. The motion carried.

Subject: The rezonning by the Village of Minnetonka of a certain area in that
Village from Residial to Commercial District.
Action: Mr. Larson moved and Mr. Blake seconded the motion that Mr. Brubacher,
285 - 312 the City Manager, and Mr. Hawks, City Planner, as well as any or all
of the members of the Zonning and Planning Commission attend the
January 7th, 1965, Minnetonka Planning Commission meeting; that the
objections of the Hopkins Zoning and Planning Commission to such
proposed Commercial zoning be expressed; also that the City Manager,
Mr. Brubacher, write a letter expressing the Commissions objections
to the Clerk-Administrator, Roy E. Swenson, as well, The motion
carried.
