05-12-1964 A special meeting of the Zoning and Planning Commission of the City of Hopkins was held in the Council Chambers of the City Hall on Tuesday, Mayl2th, 1964, at 7:00 p.m. o�clock. Present were Chairman Sundby, and members Mayor Milbert, Councilman Pokorny, Jr. , Stannard, Malecha and Larson. The City Manager, Brubacher, City Engineer, Strojan, City Building Inspector, Blomquist and the City Planner, Hawks. ^ Case No. 1. 63-41-Highway ��18 Applicant: The Zoning and Planning Commission. Subject: Present for consideration proposed plans for County Road �k18 as it passes through the City of Hopkins. Action: Mr. Pokorny Jr, moved and Mr. Stannard seconded the motion that the Zoning and Planning Co�nission recommend to the City Council for its consideration plans for Highway ��18 North of Excelsior Avenue; for proposed plan of 3rd Street going East from proposed Highway ��18 to Monk Avenue; and proposed roads to accommodate the residential area North of the new proposed 3rd Street be approved. The motion carried. Mr. Pokorny, Jr. moved and Mr. Larson seconded the motion that the Zoning and Planning Commission recommend to the City Council that they request the Railroad Warehouse Commission to vacate their order �kR667-D2745, dated May 4, 1961 setting forth the location and division of cost of the under pass bridge for the proposed relocation of County Road �k3 under the tracks of the Chicago and Northwestern Railway and the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railway, West of Monk Avenue, be approved. The motion carried. ^ Case No. �, 64-17-General Development Plan. Applicant: The Zoning and Planning Commission. Subject: The proposed general development plan for the City of Hopkins for the next twenty years. Action: No formal action was taken. A general development map was presented for tha Zoning and Planning Commissions consideration which showed proposed zorii�g � for the City of Hopkins as a whole. This case will be considered again ,` at the next special meeting. Case No. 3. 64-18-Community Facilities. Applicant: The Zoning and Planning Commission. Subject: The proposed Community Facilities plan for the City of Hopkins for the next twenty year period. _ Action: No formal action was taken. A general map of the City was presented fAr_ the Zoning and Planning Commissions consideration showing the area of � � existing Conununity Facilities and the proposed recommended Facilities. The Commission should be able to make a recommendation to the City Council relative to Community Facilities following the next special meeting. �. Case No. 4. 64-16-Special-Use-Permit. Applicatn: J. Russell Carroll. Subject: A request for a Special-Use-Permit to construct an office building in the Business-Residence District. Action: Mr. Malecha moved and Mayor Milbert seconded the motion that Resolution ��175, "A RESOLUTION ORDERING A HEA.RING FOR A SPECIAL-USE-PERMIT FOR PROPOSED CONSTRUCTION OF AN OFFICE BUILDING IN BUSINESS-RESIDENCE DISTRICT", on �he following described property: That parts of Lots 1, 2, 3 and 4, Minnehaha Oaks lying Northeasterly of Minnehaha Creek be approved. The motion carried. Mr. Robert Mason showed a film on town-houses as they are built today. No further business appearing the Commission adjourned. C. R. Sundby, Chairman ^ (Official Publication) CITY OF HOPKINS Hennepin County, Minnesota "A HEARING ON A CERTAIN APPLICATION FOR A SIDE YAR.D VARTANCE" WHEREAS, written application has been made and received by the Building Inspector for the construction of a proposed residence on the following described premises situated in Hopkins, Hennepin County, Minnesota, viz: -- "Lot 8, Block 90, West Minneapolis 2nd Division". WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 131 of the City of Hopkins , presently permits construction under Section 11, Subdivision 11, and WHEREA.S, said proposed construction of residence on Lot 8 will reduce South side yard of existing house on Lot 7, Block 90, West M�nneapolis 2nd Division to one foot, which is less than the required side yard.
