12-27-1962 A regular m��eting of the Zoning and Planning Commission of the City of Hopkins, Minnesota
was held on Tuesday, December 27, 1962 at 7:30 o.m, in the Council Chambers of the City
Hall.
Present were Chairman Sundby, Mayor Milbert, Gustafson, and Malecha, the City Manager,
Brubacher, the �ity Engineer, Strojan, the City Building Inspector, Blomquist and the

Case No. 62-33Z.
Applicant: Herb Mason.
Subject: Mr. Gustafson moved and Mr. Malecha seconded the motion to reconnnend approval
to the City Council to rezone from Single-Dwelling to Multiple-D;aelling
District; the location 601 - 17th Avenu� North, or that part of the West
Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of Section 13, To;anship 117, Range 22. The
m��tion loss. Mr. Stannard, Mr. Malecha and Mayor Milbert voting no.
Request: Mr. Herb Mason would like to with-draw his request for rezoning the above
area and asks that the motion be rescinded.
Action: Mayor Milbert moved and Mr. Gustafson seconded the motion that the motion to
reconunend approval to the City Council to rezone from Single-D;aelling to
Multiple-Dwelling Districts; the location 601 - 17th Avenue North, or that
part of the West Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of Section 13, Township 117,
Range 22 be rescinded. The motion carried.

south of north 130 feet of said lots; that part of the right-of-way of M&ST.

Subject: A hearing, published Septem�er 13th, on a request to construct a proposed
clinic type building under the provisions of Ordinance ��131, Section 5, Sub-
division 1-D-1; and under Section 15, Subdivision 2-B; the location; Lots
13 and 14, Block 80, West Minneapolis, 2nd Division.
Request: Yard variance requirements and a special use permit.
_ Action: Mr. Gustafson moved and Mr. Malecha seconded the motion that the minutes of
the November 27th, 1962 Zoning and Planning Co:nmission be am�nded ta read
that Mr. Lee's approval of the site for his proposed clinic type building
subject to sub:nitting the actural buildin� plans to the Building Inspector,
Mr. Blomquist and the City Planner, Mr. Hawks, for their approval be continued
until such plans can be presented to the Zoning and Planning Co�nission at

Inspector, Mr. Blo�quist and the City Planner, Mr. Hawks. The motion

Applicant: Clark Oil.
Subject: Request for a building permit to construct a proposed gasoline service
station at 1702 Excelsior Avenue West or on Lots 6 and 7, Block 2, Boulevard
Manor.
Request: A special use permit and a building permit.
Action: Mr. Gustafson moved and Mr. Malecha seconded the motion that Resolution �k139
"A RESOLUTIO� ORDERING A HEARING 0� THE PROP�SED CONSTRUCTION OF A SERVICE
STATIO� AND FOR A SPECIAL USE PERMIT" be approved. The motion carried.
January lOth, 1963 at 7:00 p.m. was the date fixed dor the first of the two m��nthly
Zoning and Planning Corrnnission meetings; thereafter the meetings will be the second and
last Tuesdays of each month.
The Co�nission revie�ed with Mr. Hawks, the Resident Planner and Mr. Brubacher, the
City Manager, the Barton-Aschman Associates Inc, report an roads for the City of Hopkins,
the maps for the D�wn-Town Area Plan; and other future plans for the develop�ent of the
City of Hop'�.ins.
