12-30-1963 A regular meeting of the Zoning and Planning Commission of the City of Hopkins was
held in the Council Chambers of the City Hall on Monday, December 30th, 1963, at
8:30 P.M. o'clock,
Present were Chairman Sundby, and members Mayor Milbert, Councilman Pokorny, Jr. ,
'� Stannard, Malecha and Larson. The City Manager, Brubacher, the City Building In-
spector, Blomquist, the City Engineer, Strojan and the City Planner, Hawks.
Case No. 1.63-48-Zoning
Applicant: Robert Mason and Arnold Bursch
Subject: A hearing published October 17th, 1963, for the rezoning of certain
property from Double-Residence to Multiple-Residence. The area to be
rezoned is that part of the West 4 of the Northeast 4 of Section 24,
Township 117 North, Range 22 West, described as follows: Beginning
on the East line of the West � of the Northeast 4 at a point 1426.0
feet South of the Northeast corner thereof; thence South along the East
line of the West 4 394.7 feet to the North line of Minnetonka Mills
Road; thence Northwesterly along the North parallel with the East line
of the West 2 of the Northeast 2 of the Northeast 4 (29.68) feet; thence
Southeasterly parallel with the Northerly line of Minnetonka Mills Road
171.72 feet; thence South parallel with the East line of the West 2 of
the Northeast 4 171.54 feet; thence East 486.87 feet to the point of
beginning, except for the East 164 feet thereof, or from 509 to 617
Minnetonka Mills Road.
Request: To rezone from Double-Residence to Multiple-Residence (MR-2).
Action: Mr. Pokorny, Jr, moved and Mr. Larson seconded the motion that the
Reel - 5 Zoning and Planning Commission recommend to the City Council that the
side -2 above described property be rezoned from Double-Residence to Multiple-
0 - 247 Residence (MR-2) based on the premise that the area to be rezoned,
the Special-Use-Permit and the Building Permit for the proposed con-
struction of a "Town House" development be contingent to each other.
The motion lost.
Mr. Pokorny, Jr. moved and Mayor Milbert seconded the motion that the
question of rezoning this area from Double-Residence to Multiple-
Residence (MR-2) be referred to the City Attorney and brought back
to the next regular Zoning and Planning Commission of January 28th,
1964. The motion carried.
Case No. 2. 63-54-Sub-division regulations, 701 Program.
Applicant: The Zoning and Planning Commission.
Subject: The Sub-division of proposed developments. _
Action: No action was taken. This case was continued by the Chair until the_.__.-�---

Case No. 3. 63-55-Land-Use-Analysis. 701 Program.
Applicant: The Zoning and Planning Commission.
Subject: Basic studies of Land-Use-Analysis.
Action: No action was taken. This case was continued by the Chair until the

Case No. 1. 63-51-Adjustment
Applicant: Mr. C. F. Magny
Subject: Adjustment of rear yard requirements of Zoning Ordinance ��131. The
location, 101 Minnetonka Mills Road or Lot A. , R.L.S. ��198.
Action: Mayor Milbert moved and Mr. Larson seconded the motion that the hearing
255 -284 for the proposed adjustment be held on January 14th, 1964, at the next
Special Zoning and Planning Commission meeting at 7:30 P.M. o�clock
with the provision that Mr. Ma.gny bring a letter from the neighbor on
,� the side of his lot that the adjustment is requested for. The motion
carried.
Case No. 2. 63 - Special-Use-Permit.
Applicant: Super Valu
Subject: An adjustment to allow a third story to b� added to an existing Industrial
building located at 101 Jefferson Avenue.
The December 30th, 1963 Zoning and Planning Commission meeting minutes continued.
Action: Mr. Malecha moved and Mr. Pokorny, Jr. seconded the motion that Resolution
284 - 377 �k167, "A RESOLUTION ORDERING A HEARING FOR THE ISSUANCE OF A SPECIAL-USE-
— PERMIT FOR A PROPOSED ADDITION TO AN EXISTING INDUSTRIAL BUILDING IN AN
INDUSTRI'AL DISTRICT", the location 101 Je�ferson Avenue, provided the
necessary plans are turned over to the City Building Inspector and City
Planner, at the next regular Zoning and Planning Commission meeting to
be held on January 28th, 1964, at 7:30 P.M. o�clock. The motion carried.
Chairman Sundby requested the City Planner, Mr. Hawks to bring in a study on the
vacated suburban lots located on the old street car right-a-way at our next Special
2oning and Planning Commission of January 14th, 1964.
No further business on the agenda the meeting adjourned.
