05-15-1962 A special meeting of the Zoning and Planning Commission of the City of Hopkins, Minnesota
was held on Tuesday May 15, 1962, at 7:00 p.m, in the Council Chambers of the City Hall.
Present were Ma.yor Milbert, members Wegleitner, Sundby, Cooidge Jr. , and Stannard, the
City Ma.nager, Brubacher, City Engineer, Strojan, City Building Inspector, Blomquist and
the City Resident Planner, Hawks.
�— Mr. Sundby moved and Mr. Coolidge Jr. seconded the motion that the Zoning and Planning
Commission reco�iend to the City Council that the application for the building permit by
Suburban Chevrolet at 1106 Excelsior Avenue West be granted, with a variance of seven
feet (7') to the required ten feet (10') set-back from the East-West alley, to the rear
of Lots 4, 5, & 6, Block 7, West Minneapolis, to permit the erection of an addition to
Suburban Chevrolet which will come to within three feet (3`) of the North right-a-way
line of said alley; and the vacation of that portion of the East-West alley extending
from 12th to the West line of the North-South alley in Block 7, subject to the maintain-
ing of the easements for utilities; and that Suburban Chevrolet grant a quit-claim deed
to the City of Hopkins for that portion of land which is to be unoccupied by the proposed
structure and existing structure lying between the North right-a-way line of the East-
West alley in Block 7, and South line of the existing building and proposed addition,
said parcel being approximately three feet (3') in width and for the purpose of alley
right-of-way. The motion carried.
Mr. Coolidge Jr, moved and Mr. Sundby seconded the motion that Resolution No. 119 "A
R�SOLUTION ORDERING A HEARING ON CERTAIN APPLICATION TO CONSTRUCT A PROPOSED BUILDING
IN AN INDUSTRIAL ZONE AND FOR THE ISSUANCE OF A SPECIAL USE PERMIT THEREOF" to construct
an industrial building at the Northeast corner of Monk Avenue and Excelsior Avenue East
or on Lot 75 & 76, Auditors Subdivision ��239, located in an Industrial Zone. The motion
carried.
