MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION
AT CONCLUSION OF THE REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING
Tuesday, August 21, 2007
Mayor Maxwell called the meeting to order at 8:15 pm. Present were Mayor Maxwell and Council
members Halverson, Brausen and Rowan. City personnel present were City Manager Rick Getschow and
Public Works Director Steve Stadler.
Xcel Energy Tree Trimming Issue
Public Works Director Stadler and the City Council discussed a concern brought forward by a
resident regarding the trimming of a tree by Xcel Energy contractors. Their concerns were related to
the quality of the work and the notification provided. Stadler stated that he has had discussions with
the home owner and with Xcel Energy and should resolve this issue soon. The homeowner had sent
information to the Council regarding potential policy changes related to Xcel Energy's tree trimming.
Block 64
City Manager Getschow provided an update to the City Council on the Block 64 development
project.
Ubah Medical Academy
City Manager Getschow stated that Ubah Medical Academy, which is the charter school going into
the former Katherine Curren school, is hosting an open house on Wednesday, August 29t'' from 6-
8pm.
There being no further business, a motion was made by Halverson, seconded by Brausen to adjourn the
meeting. The motion passed unanimously. The meeting was adjourned at 8:45 pm.
