CR2002-130 dog ownersAugust 7, 2002 Council Report 2002-130 ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 925, DOMESTIC ANIMALS, OF THE HOPKINS CITY CODE Proposed Action Staff recommends that the Council approve the following motion: Move to appro~°e Ordinance 2002-880 for first reading. Approval of this motion will begin the process of amending section 925 of the Hopkins City Code to clarify the duties of dog owners regarding anima] waste. wervierv The City Council was asked to consider amending the Domestic Animal ordinance to include provisions far requiring owners to deal with dog urine as well as dog feces. Council directed staff to examine the ordinance for possible changes. Staff is recommending that the current ordinance be amended to include language that would make it clear that a dog owner must deal with all animal wastes in order to prevent unsanitary conditions and odors.
