Memo- 2007 City Hall ImprovementsPublic Works Department
Memorandum
To: Honorable Mayor and Members of the City Council
From: Steven J. Stadler, Public Works Director/City Engineer
Copy: Rick Getschow, City Manager
Date: March 9, 2007
Subject: 2007 City Hall Improvements
There are several City Hall improvements scheduled for 2007. They include:
- HVAC Upgrade
- City Hall Finish Upgrade
- Remove and replace carpeting
- Systems Furniture Reconfiguration
The total budget for these projects, as included in the CIP, is: $202,000
As you know, the HVAC Upgrade project is being re-advertised with the expectation
that the bids will come in around $110,000.
We will open bids for the City Hall Finish Upgrade project on Tuesday, March 13. This
project will upgrade the appearance of the entry area and the upstairs lobby area. The
interior designers construction cost estimate for this project and the carpet replacement
is: $106, 000.
The estimated cost of the systems furniture work is $25,000.
Although the total project costs will likely exceed the budget, staff feels that these
projects are necessary improvements for City Hall and will explain them in more detail
at the work session and the impact of the apparent funding shortfall.
