Award of Bid - 2002 Seal Coat Project, City Project 02-01
Proposed Action
Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Move that Council adopt
Resolution 2002-65, Resolution for Award of Bid, Project 02-01, Awarding the 2002
Seal Coat Project Contract to Pearson Brothers, Inc.
Overview
As a part of the City's Pavement Management Program, annual seal coating is planned
for local City streets in order to preserve and extend the life of those streets. The 2002
Seal Coat Project bid opening was held on June 25, 2002. An acceptable low bid by
Pearson Brothers, Inc. in the amount of $32,796.78 was received and staffrequcsts award
of th is contract.

Starr recommends m:vard of bid for the 2002 Seal Coat Project to Pearson
Brothers, Inc. in the amount of $32,796.78.
. Project Budget
The 2002 budget for this Seal Coat Project contract is $37,000. The low bid
amount is well v,rithin this budget and would allow for a 10% contingency factor
that is not anticipated to be needed.

RESOLUTION FOR AWARD OF BID
2002 SEAL COAT PROJECT
CITY PROJECT 02-01
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOPKINS, MINNESOTA, that
the lowest bid of Pearson Brothers, Inc. in the amount of $32,796.78 is the lowest
responsible bid for the 2002 Seal Coat Project, City Project 02-01 and the Mayor and
City Manager are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with said
bidder for and on behalf of the City.
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Hopkins this 2nd day of July 2002.
