01-27-1953 '� � and Plannin C � regulax meeting of the Zonin,, g ommission of the City of Hopkins was held at the City Hall on Tuesday, January 27, 1953, at 7:30 p.�. Fresent were Chairman Anderla, biembers Johnson, Ha.gen, also Mayor Per'oix , City Nianager Taylor, City r.ngineer Laska, Councilmen Milbert, Dahlberg, and Zakariasen. The City Council attended this meeting as a joint meetir� had been called for the purpose of a public hearing on the proposed parkir� lots, street lights, sidewalk and street repair. Jonnson moved, Perbix seconded tnat recommenda.tion be made to the City Council that the petition as submitted by Daniel A. Kopesky and N'�. B. Hagen to vacate the following described property in the plat of West Minneapolis Center: The alley runnir� Pdortherly and 5outherly in Block l�, of said �Iest I�'�,nneapolis Center, also: kll that part of First Street P�orth in �lat of West I�Tirli�eapolis Center lying Easterly of the ri�ht of way of the Chica�o, I�Iilwaukee, St, Paul and Pacific Railwa;�, and Westerly of the Western boundary line of Tyler Avenue,„ be approved. Carried. Taylor moved that recommendation be made to the City Council that the ^ petition as submitted by the I�'iinneapolis Terminal Warehouse Company for vacation of the following described streets and alleys be approved: n l. Tyler Avenue from the north boundary of Lot 5, Block 1, extended, to the intersection of Tyler Avenue with St. Louis Street. 2. Harrison Avenue from its intersection with the southern boundary of Second Street North to its intersection with the northwesterly boundary of St. Louis Street. 3. Van Buren xvenue from its intersection with the sout�ern boundary of Second Street North to its intersection with the northern boundary of rirst Street North. 4, First Street idorth from the west boundary of Iot 13, Block 3, extended, to the intersection of First Street TJorth with St. IAuis St. �. St. Ir�uis Street from the western boundary of Van Buren Avenue extended, to the intersection of St. Ipuis Street with Tyler Avenue. 6. That part of the alley in Block 1, lying between Lots 5, 6, 7, and �, on the one side, and Lots 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, and ]1,. on the � other side. 7. The alley l;�ino in the center of Block 2. " As there was no second to this motion, same was considered lost. Yerbix moved, Hagen seconded that the above petition by the I��inneapolis Ter.mi.nal Warehouse Company be tabled. Taj�lor voting �no". Carried. At this time, the proposed parking lots, street lights, sidewalk and street repair problem was opened up to the public for discussion. There were about 50 residents present who were interested in the method of financir� and assessing for the parkir�g lots. After considerable dis- cussion on the subject, meeting was adjourned.
