Perbix moved, Parks seconded, that the report as submitted by the subcommittee�
pertaining to set-back linee in the east and west alleys just north and south of
Excelsior gvern�.e, marked bchibit *A�, be accepted and recommendation be made to
the City Council that Ordinance #�8, Section 4, Subdivision 5D, be amended
accordingl,y. Carried.

` E�n October 27, �953, the Chair�nan of the Hopkins Zoning and Pianning
Commission, M. B. Hagen, appointed a subcommittee consisting of W. Harlan Perbix,
a. J. Parks, Joseph Witmer, Frank Laska and Evat Johnson, to investigate and
r�port the possibility of amending Ordinance No. 8, Section 1�., Subdivision 5 D.
The subcommittee has investigated and makes the following report:

In each of the above cases it is the recommendafiion of this subcommfittee
fihat this city immediately acquire the above land for the development of alleys
with the exception of Block Seven (?) , ti"lest N�inneapolis, and Block Sixty-eight
(68) , West Minn2apolis, Second Division, which it is the recommendation of this
committee thafi a set-back be continued until the land can be acquired without the
purchase of buildings. In conjunction with the acquisition of this land, it is
tne recommendation of this subcommittee that the utility companies be requested
, to move th� poles and bury the wires.
� The subcommittee furth�r r�commends that in commercial districts where
alleys are less fihan twenty (20) feet in width, the owner must provide sufficient
space on his property for parall?I unloading, such space to be at least of the
size of ten ( 10) feet by thirty-five (35) feet.
