07-26-1955 d reoular meeting of the Zonino ai�d Planning Commission of thn City of i:opkins� was held on Tuesday, July 26, 1955 at 7:30 P.M. in the City iiall. Present were Chairman Perbix, melilbers Johnson, Mayor Ma,dden, Councilman Teserak, City Manager Frissell and City Engineer SidneyLSmi.th. � Madden moved, Tesaxek seconded, that a variation be granted for the erection of a garage at 129 Harrison Avenue South as applied for, provided sazne is agreeable to the neighbors who will be contacted by Ms. Smith, Bailding Inspector. Carried. Smith moved, Johnson seconded, that the billboard license application for 620 East Ex— celsior avenue (Boulevard) as apphed for by the Plaegle Advertising Company, be tabled. Carried. Frissell moved, Tesarek seconded, that the axea (bounded on the i�:orth by 3rd Street South, on tne Ea.st by lst Avenue Soutn or County Road #1.8 on the Soutn by the extension of 5th Street South, and on the West by 6th Avenue South,� presently owned by the County of Hennepin, remain designated as in a residential district until the ZorLi,ng Ordinance shall have been amended to more precisely con�rolled industrial uses, when all proposed uses shall be submitted to the Planning Board for their approval� at whicn time said area shall be redesignated as in an industrial district. Such action to be further contingent upon acquisition by the City of Hopkins of an adequate strip of land along the Soutnerly side of said area to provide a '�buffertt zone between tne residential district to the South and sai.d proposed industrial area. Carried. Smith moved, Johnson seconded, that all of Section 25 be zoned as shown on proposed zoning !� map except as set up in previous motions. Carried.
