Hopkins , Minn.
Gentlemen:
The American Society of Planning Officials has accepted the
invitation of the planning agencies in the Minneapolis-St .
Paul metropolitan area to hold their annua.l conference in
Minneapolls in the spring of 1959. Tentatively the time
has been set for the early part of April.
Now that we have been awarded the conference, we must strt
planning for the activities which are the local responsibil-
-- ity. It is customary to appoint a local committee to plan
for such matters as receptions, ladies' program, exhibits,
registration fa.cilities (which will be handled by the Minnea-
polis Convention Bureau) , and tours during and after the
convention.
Since the Minneapolis Planning Commission took the initiative
of extending the invitation to ASPO, we are also taking the
initiative at this time of inviting you to name a representa-
tive from your group to serve on the local arrngements com-
mittee for the conference.
We would appreciate hearing from you soon as to the name,
address and telephone number of your representatine.
Sinc ely,
C1
