11-27-1973 A regular meeting of the Zoning & Planning Commission of the City of Hopkins, Minnesota, was held on Tuesday, November 27, 1973, at 7:30 p.m, in the Council Chambers in the City Hall. Present were Chairman Shirley, Commission members Arnold, Hance, Sidla and Councilman ` Vassar, also City Engineer Strojan, Zoning AdminstratorKohnen and City Planner Bergly. Absent: Commissioner Gaskell, Moll and CiLy Manager Novak. Case No. 73-25 Hearing to consider variances from the required 60 foot lot width in the R-2 District to a 52 foot lot width and from the required 7500 square foot lot area to 6396 square foot lot area, to permit selling a home as a duplex. Said property is located at 334 - 12th Avenue North. (see attached) Action: Mr. Hance moved, and Mr. Vassar seconded the motion to recommend to the City Council approval of the lot variance from the required 60 foot lot width in the R-2 District to a 52 foot lot width and from the required 7500 square foot lot area to 6396 square foot lot area to permit selling a house as a duplex. A poll of the vote was 3 yeas, 1 nay, Motion carried. Case No. 73-26 Hearing to consider waiving the Platting Requirements to allow division of Lot 2, Block 8, Hobby Acres, Lohmann Aarhus Division also known as 308 Wayside Road. Action: Mr, Vassar moved, and Mr. Arnold seconded the motion to recommend to `- the City Council denial of waiving the Platting Requirements to split Lot 2, Block 8, Hobby Acres. A poll of the vote was 3 yeas, 1 nay. Motion carried. Item: Public Hearing continued from August 28, 1973, to consider revisions for County Road 73. Action: Mr. Arnold moved, and Mr. Aance seconded the motion to recommend to the City Council denial of Hennepin County's design to upgrade County Road 73 from Highway 7 North to Minnetonka Blvd. Motion carried. Item: Stage 1 review - Ellis property. Action: Mr. Arnold moved, and Mr. Sidla seconded the motion to recommend to the City Council approval of Stage 1 review of the apartment development of 48 Units on the Ellis property. Motion carried. Item: Preliminary review of building plans for Dr. Dean Olson on lOth Avenue North and First Street. Action: Mr. Arnold moved, and Mr. Sidla seconded the motion to recommend to the � City Council approval of the preliminary plans of the Medical Building with more design work to be done on the parking lot with regard to exiting. Motion carried. Item: Preliminary review of building plans for an apartment on the Gerar� property on Highway No. 7, by Herb Mason. Action: Mr. Arnold moved, and Mr. Sidla seconded the motion to recommend approval to the City Council of the preliminary plan for the 75 Unit apartment building on the Gerard site. Motion carried. Information: Parking requirements - attach to proposed ordinance. Action: Copy to each Council member. Action: Mr. Vassar moved, and Mr. Sidla seconded the motion, that the meeting be adjourned.
