A regular meeting of the Hopkins Zoning and Planning Commission was held on
`, Tuesday, May 28, 1974 at 7:30 P.M. in the Council Chambers of the City Hall.
Present were Chairman Shirley, members Hance, Moll and Vassar. Also present
were Acting City Manager Richardson, City Engineer Strojan, Zoning Administrator
Kohnen and City Planner Bergly.
Item: Request for continuing a non-conforming antique sales business in an R-5
District in building adjacent to the previous legal non-conforming same
use by VIE'S ANTIQUE SHOP located at 18 12th Avenue North
Action: Mr. Hance moved and Mrs . Moll seconded a motion to recommend to the
City Council approval of this non-conforming business in an R-5 District
to continue due to the extreme hardships brought on if forced to move or
go out of business with the following conditions : 1. No display of
merchandise outside of the building. 2. Come back in five (5) years and
re-new this non-conforming permit to operate. Motion carried. 2 yea, 1 nay.
Item: Report on status of zoning ordinance amendments now at City Council.
Mr. Vassar reported to the Commission the feelings of the Council regarding
the proposed amendments.

Item: Action on Comprehensive Guide Plan amendments as presented at public hearings.
Action: Mr. Vassar moved and Mr. Hance seconded a motion to have Mr. Bergly up-date
the Comprehensive Guide Map to coincide with the new zoning changes.
Motion carried.
Item: Discussion of priorities for 1974 Planning Work Program.
* Mr. Bergly is to contact Mr. Greenawalt when preparing survey forms for
apartment occupancy so that the survey results will be beneficial to both
the City and School District.
Action: Mr. Vassar moved and Mr. Hance seconded a motion that the meeting be
adjourned. Motion carried.
