07-30-1974 A regular meeting of the Hopkins Zoning and Planning Commission was held on � Tuesday, July 30, 1974, at 7:30 P.M. in the Council Chambers of the City Hall. Present were Acting Chairman Sidla, members Arnold, Gaskell, Milbert and Moll. Also present were City Manager Cotton, City Engineer Strojan, Zoning Administrator Kohnen, City Planner Bergly and City Attorney Vesely. Item: Renewal of mobile trailer permit on Mr. Walsers truck sales lot. Action: Mr. Gaskell moved and Mr. Milbert seconded a motion to recommend to the Council approval of renewal of mobile trailer permit on Mr. Walsers truck sales lot for one year. Motion carried. Case No. 74-03 Hearing on an application to re-zone from R-5 (Multiple Family Residential) to B-3a (General Business) Lots 7, 8 and 9, Block 71, West Minneapolis Second Division, also known as 10, 14 and 18, 12th Avenue North. Action: Mrs. Moll moved to recommend to the Cit_y Council approval to re-zone from R-5 (Multiple Family Residential) to B-3a (General Business) Lots 7, 8 and 9, Block 71, West Minneapolis Second Division, also known as 10, 14 and 18, 12th Avenue North. Motion died for lack of a second. ` Action: Mrs. Moll moved and Mr. Arnold seconded the motion for discussion purposes only to recommend to the City Council approval to rezone from R-5 (Multiple Family Residential) to B-3a (General Business) Lots 7, 8 and 9, Block 71, West Minneapolis Second Division, also known as 10, 14 and 18, 12th Avenue North. Motion defeated. Mrs. Moll voted yea, rest of commission voted nay. Item: Mr. John Dickson from the Nine Mile Creek Watershed District explained the Flood Plain and answered questions from the Commission. Item: Discussion on request to relocate the Newcomb Nursery from the West side of Blake Road to the East side. Action: The Commission advised Mr. Newcomb to meet with Mr. Kohnen and apply for an open sales lot permit and meet all the requirements for this permit and then come before the Zoning and Planning Commission. Item: Review of proposed closing of Second Street South at the intersection of 5th Avenue. Action: Mrs. Moll moved and Mr. Gaskell seconded a motion to recommend to the City Council approval of the closing of Second Street South at the intersectior `" of 5th Avenue. Motion carried. Action: Mrs. Moll moved and Mr. Milbert seconded a motion that the meeting be adjourned. Motion carried.
