A regular meeting of the Hopkins Zoning and Planning Commission was held on
Tuesday, May 27, 1975, at 7:30 P,M, in the Council Chambers of the City Hall.
Present were Chairman Shirley, members Arnold, Gaskell, Milbert. Also present
were City Manager Cotton, City Engineer Strojan, City Planner Hawks, and Zoning
Administrator Kohnen.
Case No: 75-OS Hearing to consider an application by Hopkins Plaza for a
Conditional Use Permit to install a swimming pool for the
housing project to be erected on Lots 11 thru 41 and the
South 30 feet of Lot 42, Block 3, West Minneapolis.
Action: Mr. Arnold moved and Mr. Gaskell seconded a motion to recommend
to the City Council approval of the Conditional Use Permit for
a swimming pool in the Hopkins Plaza development. Motion carried.
Item: Continued hearing of the revised Flood Plain Ordinance.
Action: Mr. Gaskell moved and Mr. Arnold seconded a motion that Mr. Hawks
prepare the final draft of the Flood Plain Ordinance with the
approved concepts and have it ready for the June 24, 1975 meeting.

Item: Preliminary review of plans for a Medical-Office building housing
about ten doctors and an apartment building consisting of 96 one-
bedroom and two two-bedroom apartments to be constructed in the
Urban Renewal area by Mr. Don Hagen.
Action: Mr. Hagen will bring in plans for the development as they are
completed.
Case No: 74-01 Review Council action of March 19, 1974, regarding the vacation
of 14th Avenue South from 5th Street to Sixth Street and the
alley in Block 2, L.P. Creviers First Addition to West Minneapolis
continued from April 29, 1975.
Action: Mr. Arnold moved and Mr. Gaskell seconded a motion to recommend to
the City Council denial of the street vacation of 14th Avenue South
in front of Lots l, 2, 3, 4 and 5, Block 2, L.P. Creviers First
Addition to West Minneapolis. Motion carried.
Action: Mr. Gaskell moved and Mr. Arnold seconded a motion that the meeting
� be adjourned. Motion carried.
