10-16-1978 A special meeting of the Hopkins Zoning and Planning Commission was held on �. Monday, October 16, 1978 at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chamber of the City Hall. Present were Chairman Hance, members Eaves, Marker, Slaton, Treanor and Miller. Also present were Zoning Administrator Kohnen and City Planner Hawks. Item: Hearing on proposed Knox Lumber retail center and lumber yard. Mr. Terry Anderson from Knox Lumber gave a slide presentation of their operation and interior and exterior views of their buildings. He then answered questions from the commission. Mr. Jim Hawks, City Planner then went over his staff report with Mr. Anderson and the commission. Action: Mr. Eaves moved and Mr. Miller seconded a motion to continue this item until the October 31, 1978 meeting at which time Knox Lumber will bring in modi- fication and corrections to the following items: A. Redesign the north property fence using some wood and more landscaping to make it more attractive ` B. Redesign and relocate the entrance and exit area C. Approve plan for surface drainage D. Redesign loading area. Motion carried. Item: Minnetonka property located at the southeast corner of Highway 7 and Shady Oak Road. Mr. Eaves moved and Mrs. Treanor seconded a motion to have staff write a letter to Minnetonka Zoning and Planning Commission stating that Hopkins would endorse residential development of this property but not business due to the fact that residences now surround this area in Hopkins.
