COMMISSION ACTION: / / / / � ITEM: DOWNTOWN PARKING SYSTEM ISSUES - PAUL STEINMAN ADJOURNMENT � ZONING AND PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES January 30, 1996 A regular meeting of the Zoning and Planning Commission was held on Tuesday, January 30, 1996, at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers of Hopkins City Hall. Present were Commission members Pat Gleeson, Sid Blair, Dan Johnson, Bill Gullickson, Kate Kinnich, Rick Brausen, and Council Representative Gene Maxwell. Also present was City Planner Nancy Anderson and Community Development Specialist Paul Steinman. CALL TO ORDER ViceChair Gullickson called the meeting to order. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Mr. Brausen moved and Mr. Blair seconded a motion to approve the minutes of the December 26, 1995, meeting. The motion carried unanimously. � CASE NO. ZN96-1 ZONING AMENDMENT- FLOOD PLAIN ORDINANCE Ms. Anderson reviewed the need to amend the dates in the flood plain ordinance to reflect changes to the flood insurance rate maps. The public hearing was opened at 6:35 p.m. No one came forward to speak. Mr. Blair moved and Mr. Brausen seconded a motion to close the public hearing at 6:36 p.m. The motion was approved unanimously. Mr. Brausen moved and Mrs. Kinnich seconded a motion to approve Resolution RZ96-1, recommending approval of an amendment to the flood plain ordinance. The motion was approved unanimously. Mr. Johnson arrived at 6:37 and assumed the duties as chair. ITEM: PARKING COMMITTEE Paul Steinman appeared before the Commission to discuss the transition of Parking Committee duties to the Zoning and Planning Commission assume their duties. Mr. Brausen thought it was a good idea to have the Zoning and Planning Commission assume the � duties of the Parking Committee. MINUTES OF THE ZONING AND PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING --- Page 2 Mr. Johnson asked Mr. Steinman about some of the issues that the parking committee dealt with. Mr. Steinman stated the following were some of the parking issues that have been dealt with by the Parking Committee: o change time limit in Lot 500 from two hours to three hours o review the theater project parking o review the diagonal parking on l Oth Avenue o review parking area for part-time employees ADJOURN Mr. Blair moved and Mr. Gullickson seconded a motion to adjourn at 7:05 p.m. The motion carried unanimously.
