Reid Date: 10/17/2002 Re: Hopkins Facilities Improvement Plan Update A number of aspects of the plan need to be reported to Council at the October 22nd meeting. I. An improved site plan design for the Public Works/Fire site. The latest site plan shows the key objectives being met in creating the separation for school bus and child drop off at the Katherine Curren Elementary, playground spaces tied to the . Central Park area, school and Pavilion parking, as well as re-designed spaces for Fire Department and Public Works on the site. The changes also address intersection concerns at I ih A v and I sl Street. 2. Update on obtaining a site for Public Works operation and equipment storage during construction. 3. Identification of space for the Hopkins Emergency Operations Center and EOC back up in the new construction to replace the current EOC space in the Fire Department Training Room. 4. Preliminary cost estimates based on current site plans and elevations. Staff is moving forward with planning and has identified the following key dates: 1117/02 Presentation to School Board 11/13/02 Neighborhood Meeting 11/26/02 Plans to Zoning & Planning 1/16/03 Public Open House I look forward to the chance to update you on the progress of the Facilities Improvement Plan. .
