Second Reading, Ordinance 2004-942
Staff recommends a motion to adopt Ordinance 2004-942 for second reading and
order publication.
The ordinance has not changed since the first reading.
This ordinance sets a fine of $200 for failure to obtain a truth in housing report. It
also changes the process for claiming impounded animals by making the owner of
the animal responsible for all boarding costs that were incurred with the
impounding.

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 355 AND 925 OF THE HOPKINS CITY
CODE
The City Council of the City of Hopkins does hereby ordain as follows:
Section 1. Section 355.15, Subdivision 1 is amended as follows:
Rental of Dwelling Unit Without License
Unregistered Multi-Unit Dwelling
Failure to Obtain a Truth in Housing Report

Section 2. Section 925.49 is amended as follows:
925.49. Reclaiming animals. An owner reclaiming an impounded animal shall
pay to the clerk an impounding fee and 3 daily boarding fee for eaoh day the animal
has been impoundod in tho amount oot by oity council rosolution. shall be
responsible for all resulting charges from the designated pound or boarding facility.
The reclamation shall not be interpreted as a waiver of any criminal proceedings
against the owner for the violation of this section. Animals may be reclaimed
during normal city business hours.
