The Twin Cities metropolitan area is a seven counties area with approximately three million people. This is a plan for the region for the next 30 years. It is updated every 10 years. The document has divided the metropolitan area into different community designations based on the development of the community. On page 53, Hopkins has been defined as an urban center and on pages 85-89 are the strategies for community designation for the urban center. The document is quite large; you will be receiving a paper copy. If you want to look at an electronic version, go to metrocouncil.org/Planning/Projects/Thrive-2040.aspx. We will go over the document at the meeting. r
