Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Move that Council adopt Resolution 2003- 068. resolution to award bids for Pavilion Renovation Proiect. Bid PackaQe 4 contracts. Divisions 4. 5 and 6: electrical. masonry and roofinQ work. Overview. City Council at its May 20, 2003 meeting app~oved design and construction management services contracts and a project funding resolution. Design work is completed and the final bid package, bid package #4 was publicly advertised and bids were opened on Tuesday, August 6 at 2:00 p.m. Competitive bids, under the construction estimates, were received for the electrical, masonry and roofing work. The new electrical low bid of $70,920, is less than half the previous low bid of $146,820 that City Council rejected by resolution on July 15. Staff recommends awarding contracts for divisions 4,5 and 6. Primary Issues to Consider. . Project Schedule change The concrete floor topping in the mezzanine is completed. Contractor submittals are being processed and materials are ordered. The renovation work will begin within two weeks. . Substantial completion is scheduled for October 3, with final completion October 17. . Project costs The total project budget is $715,370.
