Proclamation Recognizing Driskill’s Downtown Market Rounding Up Program; Mornson CITY OF HOPKINS Memorandum To: Honorable Mayor and Council Members From: Mike Mornson, City Manager Date: October 15, 2019 Subject: Proclamation Recognizing Driskill’s Downtown Market Rounding Up Program _____________________________________________________________________ Driskill’s Downtown Market has a round up program that allows customers to round up their bill to the next dollar. All “round up” money goes to the charity/local organization that is being highlighted that month. This has been a valuable program for many within the Hopkins and surrounding areas. City Manager A Proclamation Honoring Driskill’s Downtown Market Rounding Up Program WHEREAS, Driskill’s Downtown Market Rounding Up Program was established on April 2, 2016 and has been an impactful program to Hopkins and surrounding areas, and WHEREAS, Driskill’s Downtown Market receives many requests from charities and local organizations to be the selected recipients for a month , and WHEREAS, Driskill’s Downtown Market Rounding Up Program generated donations of $28,284.91 in 2016; $29,977.96 in 2017; and $46,862 in 2018 , and WHEREAS, Driskill’s Downtown Market Rounding Up Program is on track to generate donations over $50,000 in 2019 , and WHEREAS, Driskill’s Downtown Market Rounding Up Program impacts the City of Hopkins by promoting opportunities and growth for charities and local organizations while being a business example of community involvement. NOW THEREFORE, I, Jason Gadd, Mayor of the City of Hopkins in the State of Minnesota, along with my fellow Council Members, ask all residents to join me in proudly honoring and celebrating our hometown business, Driskill’s Downtown Market, on their successful program.
