MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION PROCEEDINGS
AT CONCLUSION OF THE REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING
Tuesday, October 15, 2019
CALL TO ORDER
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a work session of the Hopkins City Council was
held on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at 10:05 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at
Hopkins City Hall, 1010 First Street South, Hopkins.
Mayor Gadd called the meeting to order with Council Members Brausen, Kuznia,
Halverson and Hunke attending. Staff present included City Manager Mornson and
Assistant City Manager Lenz.
Administration:
City Manager stated that three City Council Members are needed for the canvas
meeting on Thursday, November 14, 8 a.m.
City Council
Council Member Hunke attended the Bike Advocacy Group meeting on October 9
discussing alternative transportation options.
Council Member Hunke attended the Hopkins Race and Equity Initiative (HREI) on
October 10.
Council Member Halverson would be attending the Multicultural Advisory Committee
meeting on October 17.
Council Member Kuznia discussed the HREI meeting.
There was Council discussion about the touch decisions Council needs to make that
affect neighborhoods and city residents. There was discussion about the best ways
to communicate with the public, communication tools, social media and the
importance of open communication and discussions. Staff would schedule Ehlers
Inc. at a future City Council Work Session to discuss the Financial Management
Plan.
Mayor Gadd discussed the Honor Flight for resident Ray Novak.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to come before the City Council and upon a motion by
Brausen, seconded by Kuznia, the meeting was unanimously adjourned at 10:40 p.m.
