MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION
AT CONCLUSION OF THE REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING
Tuesday, March 18, 2008
Mayor Maxwell called the meeting to order at 7:52 pm. Present were Mayor Maxwell and Council
members Halverson, Brausen, Rowan and Youalcim. City personnel present were City Manager Riclc Getschow
and Public Worlcs Director Steve Stadler. Also present were A. J. Mitchell, 101 Minnetonka Mills Blvd. and
Joe Johnson of 105 Minnetonka Mills Blvd
Sidewalks on Minnetonka Mills Blvd.: City Council and city staff discussed the sidewalk proposed for the
north side of Minnetonka Mills Blvd. and the trail for the south side of Minnetonka Mills Blvd. that is part of t
the 2008 street improvements. The City Engineer has begun to receive feedback from area residents regarding
the construction of the sidewalk. Council discussed different options for the construction of the sidewalk and
the trail. The general consensus was to move ahead with the planned construction of the sidewalk and trail, but
to continue to work with all affected property owners regarding the specifics of the construction.
U.S Women Open 2008: City Manager Getschow provided an update to the City Council on the city staff
negotiations with the LPGA for NBC use of Interlachen Park during the event.
Fifth Ave Flats: City Manager Getschow gave an update to the Council on the Fifth Avenue Flats
redevelopment project. This item will be on the March 25th work session agenda.
With no further business, a motion was made by Halverson, seconded by Youakim to adjourn the meeting. The
motion passed unanimously. The meeting was adjourned at 9:05 pm.
